iPad Represents 88% of Tablet Sales

IBM released its Thanksgiving and Black Friday report on mobile shopping, and the iPad completely dominates.
In the chart below, you can see the iPad represented 88.3 percent of all tablet shopping on Black Friday and Thanksgiving. It was also 9.3 percent of all mobile shopping. The iPhone was 8.7 percent in mobile, while Android was just 5.5 percent in mobile. (Add it up, and you have the iOS at 18 percent of mobile shopping versus 5.5% for Android.)
IBM's data comes from tracking online retailers with its Digital Analytics Benchmark product. These stats come from tracking, apparel, department stores, health and beauty, and home good, says IBM.

Two New iPads Available Now!

Apple has just released two new iPads and they are available today for purchase.  

The all new iPad Retina which has an amazing resolution of 2048x1536 pixels which is 1 million more pixels than Full HD (1920x1080), along with an HD 1080p video camera, HD FaceTime, LTE Wireless, Siri and finally (2x) the processing speed!  


The iPad Mini sports the same processor and resolution of the iPad 2 within a much smaller package of 7.9".  The improvements above and beyond the iPad 2 include HD 1080p video camera, HD FaceTime, LTE Wireless and Siri.

iPhone 5 is Here!

Apple has finally released the long awaited iPhone 5 on Wednesday, September 5th 2012.  It’s hard to believe a phone which is now 18% thinner and 20% lighter could offer so many new features: a larger display now at 4 inches (10cm) now displays full HD and with more space for apps while remaining ideal for single hand use.  Also sporting the A6, a fastener chip which is upto 2x the performance of the previous A5, as well as the latest wireless technology (LTE), an 8MP iSight camera, and much more.

"Evidence of commercial iTV production is starting: we believe specialty components have begun to ship to Apple's Asia panel suppliers with polarized films, filters, and IGZO components starting to move in small quantities. We expect commercial production in May/ June with 2M to 5M builds likely. We still expect a CQ4 launch."

Apple Sold 156 Million iDevices in 2011

"This 55 [million iPads sold] is something no one would have guessed. Including us. To put it in context, it took us 22 years to sell 55 million Macs. It took us about 5 years to sell 22 million iPods, and it took us about 3 years to sell that many iPhones. And so, this thing is, as you said, it’s on a trajectory that’s off the charts."
